The wonderful Green River Valley. Cliffs rise 3,200' above the valley. Gannett Peak is visible on the left, rising an additional 2,200', and topped by a glacier. The Wind River Range is home to the largest group of glaciers in the lower 48 states of the U.S. That's why you're usually not far from water in this range, which contains about 1100 lakes. It's also why the valleys are U-shaped, instead of V-shaped.
The valley points South Southeast. As you can see from the lines between the pictures, it's pretty hard to get this view on camera!
