Slide Lake sits at 9,500' elevation, below Lost Eagle Peak (11,800'). The Tree Route in the picture is the best way to ascend to the Saddle between Lost Eagle Peak and White Rock. It can be reached by a faint trail following its way near the West (right) edge of the lake. Slide Creek runs into the lake through the valley seen on the left side of the picture.
